Trail Guide
The Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation is active in maintaining several trails in the Williamstown area on property it owns or helps manage. We also have a detailed Trail Kiosk located at Sheep Hill, 671 Cold Spring Road (Route 7 South from Williamstown) Descriptions of each trail follow.
Hiking times given are generous, with plenty of time for enjoying the views along the way.
Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation-Supported Area Trails
 
 
1. The Pine Cobble Trail
Moderate to strenuous, 2.1 miles, 2 hours. Hiking
2. The Chestnut Trail
Moderate, 1 ½ miles, 1 and ½ hours. Hiking, skiing, snowshoeing
3. Sheep Hill Trails
Two short, scenic walking loops. Hiking, skiing, snowshoeing
4. The Fitch Memorial Woodlands
Easy to moderate, 1.8 mile, 1 to 1 ½ hours. Hiking, snowshoeing, skiing for experienced skiers
5. The Hopper Trails
Hopper Brook Loop - Easy, 3/4 mile, 45 minutes. Hiking, snowshoeing, skiing
Haley Farm Trail - Strenuous, 1 ½ miles, 2 ½ hours. Hiking
6. The Phelps Trail
Moderately strenuous to strenuous, 1.5 miles, 2 ½ hours. Hiking
7. The Berlin Road Trail System
Easy, 1.4 mile, one hour. Hiking, snowhoeng and skiing
8. Hoosic River Nature Trail
Short interpretive walking trail
